_Jewel-Osco, a division of Supervalu Inc., is recalling its Happy Tails multi-flavored dog biscuits because they could be contaminated with salmonella. In pets, this organism can cause diarrhea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain and can be transferred to other animals or humans. The organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, especially in young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. The products were sold at Jewel-Osco stores in a 26 ounce package with the UPC number 41163-42406, as well as the 4 pound package with UPC number 41163-42403. No illnesses have been reported. _ Kellogg Co. announced the recall of two varieties of ShopRite brand peanut butter sandwich crackers because the products could be contaminated with salmonella. The recalled products include ShopRite Peanut Butter on Toasty Crackers, all sizes, and ShopRite Peanut Butter and Cheese Cracker Snacks, all sizes. The products were manufactured by Kellogg Co. and sold at ShopRite, which has stores in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
