Recall News: Potato chips, shrimp

The following recall has been announced:

-Certain packs of potato chips sold under the label "Valu Time Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips" by Barrel O' Fun Snack Foods Co. of Perham, Minn., have been recalled because the product contains undeclared milk protein. People with allergies or severe sensitivity to milk protein may be at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The Valu Time Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips subject to this recall were sold through distribution centers located in Virginia, Nebraska and Kansas. These distribution centers service retail grocery stores throughout the United States. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Consumers who have purchased Valu Time Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips may return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may contact Barrel O' Fun at 1-800-346-4910 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST Monday through Friday).

-Certain containers of Sonny's Barbecue Deep Deveined Shrimp were recalled by Rich Products Corp. of Buffalo, N.Y., because the product was found to have undeclared milk ingredient, whey, in the coating of the shrimp. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Rich Products has not received any reports of illness.
