Pistachio recalls continue over the weekend

US Recall News     updated  2009/04/13 07:54

Even on the weekend, companies around the nation are issuing voluntary recalls for products containing pistachios they purchased from Setton Pistachio of Terra Bella, one of the nation’s largest pistachio packers.

All of the recalls cite the fear of salmonella contamination. None has any direct evidence of any problems, however. As of Saturday afternoon, here are the weekend recalls:

-  Albanese Confectionery Group Inc. of Merrillville, Ind., manufactures nut products which contain pistachios supplied by Setton Pistachio and also distributes pistachio products purchased from Setton Pistachio.

The products under recall are labeled as follows:

Shelled Pistachios R/NS, net wt. 25 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code). [note: R/NS means roasted, no salt]

Deluxe Mix Nuts salt, net wt. 30 lbs., Albanese Confectionary Group, Merrillville, IN (no UPC code).
